The design of this project arises out of a respect for the spectacular topography of the existing site, a breathtaking peninsula in the international beach resort of Punta del Este. The project integrates a variety of residential typologies - houses and apartments of different sizes and layouts - into the surrounding landscape while at the same time letting each unit's particularities stand out. This strategy minimizes disruption of the site, simplifying the construction process and preserving as much of the natural terrain as possible.

Our design allows for different types of groupings of individual units. Each unit is accessed by stairs from the adjacent street or by an inclined elevator from the top level. A modular structural system allows for a simple and efficient construction process combined with a diversity in unit typology and layout. The façade of each unit is made of colored concrete and natural rock. Each building mass thus merges with the next, as well as the natural surroundings.

All of the units have spectacular views of the ocean. Large windows lead to canopied terraces with hardwood decks. Landscaped areas lead, in many cases, to private swimming pools. The landscaped areas will be developed in close relationship to the pre-existing condition of rock, grass and native vegetation. Bushes and trees will be planted where neccersary in order to give character or provide privacy and seperation to individual units. The streets will be paved with interlocking concrete cobblestones.
